HELIMAG SURVEY << Back to Main Page
In early 2006 Elliott Geophysics flew a Helimag survey over an area in North Sumatra to specifically locate the source of Iron mineralization in the property. Figure 1 and 2 shows a stack of magnetic profiles indicating the source or location of the magnetite iron mineralization in the area.

EGI system is accurate in locating this type of source either by ground or airborne method. The systems used purposely for this survey are as follows:

  • Flight Line Spacing 100 meters
  • Flight Line Direction NS
  • Tie Line Spacing 1000 meters
  • Tie Line Direction EW
  • Flying Height 100 meters
  • Magnetometer Cycle Rate 0.1 seconds
  • Magnetometer Resolution 0.001nT
  • GPS Cycle Rate 1.0 second
  • Radar Altimeter 0.1 second
  • Base Magnetometers, 2 x proton precession at 5-20 secs cycle rate
